Finding Our Feet
The information in this section is for groups and organisations planning their own trips as part of the Finding Our Feet project.
We ask that all groups complete a simple monitoring form and to carry out an evaluation
You will also need to complete a claim form for your travel expenses .
To help you plan your visit, we have produced a 'Possible Destinations' table and a 'Planning and Risk Assessment sheet' .
If you are a refugee community organisation working with refugees, asylum seekers or new migrants and are interested in organising your own trip to the nearby countryside, please get in touch. We can give you ideas about where to go and reimburse the cost of your bus or train tickets
Important Information/Advice for Groups Organising Trips
-
Always check transport times just before your visit in case there have been any changes (see www.travelsouthyorkshire.com or phone 01709 515151 and press option 1). A timetable valid from the 17th May is available
-
Cafes and shops in the Peak District can be very expensive so take extra water and enough food for your trip.
-
The weather can be different from in the towns and can change quickly so make sure that people take some warm clothes with them even if it is hot. (We have some waterproofs and lightweight fleece pullovers which can be loaned out if booked in advance).
-
Don't leave any litter or rubbish anywhere. Take it home with you or carry it to a litter bin.
-
Keep away from animals, especially cows with calves. Walk past them and do not run after them or away from them.
-
Follow the Countryside Code rules (see them )
